Hi ,

Government of Ontario Offering Grants up to $5,000 for Investment in Digital Technologies for Small and Medium Sized Businesses

Restaurants Canada is excited to share that Ontario Associate Minister of Small Business, Nina Tangri, recently announced the government has allocated funding for its new Retail Modernization Project Grant, which will provide a flexible grant of up to $5,000 to be matched by participants adopting new technologies in these areas.

The program is open to businesses with 1-50 employees that have been in business for at least one year, with a revenue greater than $100K. While the program is widely open to foodservice businesses, we understand that franchises, catering companies with no storefront, mobile food trucks, and ghost kitchens are not eligible.

Examples of eligible expenses include: Point of Sales Hardware; Mobile POS; CRM; Accounting Software; Electronic Shelf Labels; RFID and IOT; Self-Checkout Kiosks; Digital storage; Inventory management; AI customer interaction systems; Loss prevention–Video; Scheduling and labor management; Technology installation
